2. Location Information

Remote Truck Diagnostic may collect and transmit precise location information when the user enables the Truck Location feature and grants Android location permission.

Location information may include:

• Latitude
• Longitude
• Location accuracy
• Speed
• Direction or heading
• Altitude when available
• Location timestamp

Location information is used to provide features such as live truck location and fleet vehicle location on authorized remote dashboards.

When an active diagnostic or remote connection service is running, location may continue to be transmitted while the App is minimized or the device screen is locked.

The App requests user consent before enabling location sharing. Users may deny location permission and continue using other supported diagnostic features.

Location permission can also be changed at any time through the Android device settings.

3. Vehicle Diagnostic Information

The App communicates with supported truck diagnostic hardware to perform vehicle diagnostic functions.

Depending on the truck, diagnostic adapter, subscription level, and selected feature, information may include vehicle parameters, fault codes, module information, VIN, mileage, sensor values, aftertreatment information, engine information, ABS information, and diagnostic command responses.

This information may be transmitted to authorized ProTruck Remote servers so the user can remotely view and operate supported diagnostic features.

4. How We Use Information

Information processed by the App may be used to:

• Provide vehicle diagnostic functionality
• Display live truck information
• Read and clear supported diagnostic fault codes
• Provide supported diagnostic and service functions
• Maintain communication with the diagnostic adapter
• Provide remote diagnostic access
• Display truck location when enabled
• Maintain account and device associations
• Troubleshoot connection and service problems
• Maintain the security and reliability of the service

5. Background Operation

Remote Truck Diagnostic may use an Android foreground service while an active truck diagnostic connection or remote connection is running.

This allows the App to maintain communication with the diagnostic adapter and authorized remote services while the App is minimized or the phone screen is locked.

If the user has separately enabled Truck Location and granted location permission, location updates may also continue during this active foreground service.

6. Data Transmission and Security

Internet communications between supported versions of the App and ProTruck Remote services are protected using encrypted network connections where applicable, including TLS.

Local communication between the mobile device and the truck diagnostic adapter may occur over a private local Wi-Fi connection created by the diagnostic hardware.

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or loss. However, no electronic communication or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

7. Sharing of Information

Information may be processed by systems and service providers necessary to operate Remote Truck Diagnostic and ProTruck Remote services.

Information may also be disclosed when required by law, legal process, or to protect the security, rights, or safety of users, the service, or others.

We do not use precise truck location information for targeted advertising.

8. Data Retention

Information is retained only as reasonably necessary to provide and maintain Remote Truck Diagnostic services, support users, maintain service security, comply with applicable legal obligations, and resolve technical or operational issues.

Different types of diagnostic, account, connection, and location information may have different retention periods depending on their purpose.

9. User Choices

Users can control certain data processing through the App and Android device settings.

Users may:

• Decline the Truck Location feature
• Disable Android location permission
• Stop an active diagnostic or remote connection
• Sign out of supported remote services

10. Account and Data Requests

Users may contact ProTruck Remote regarding questions about their account, personal information, correction requests, or deletion requests.

Additional account-management or deletion options may also be provided through the ProTruck Remote website or account dashboard.

11. Children's Privacy

Remote Truck Diagnostic is a professional vehicle diagnostic application and is not designed or directed toward children.

12. Third-Party Services

The App or associated web services may use third-party infrastructure or service providers necessary for hosting, networking, mapping, security, communications, or other service functions.

Those providers may process limited information as necessary to perform their services and may have their own privacy policies.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as Remote Truck Diagnostic features, services, or legal requirements change.
